This piece features the Rio Grande Cichlid. According to the TPWD, the distribution of it in Texas appears to have originally been limited to the lower reaches of the Rio Grande. However, a number of populations have been established in river drainages of Central Texas' Edwards Plateau including the San Marcos, Guadalupe, San Antonio and Colorado rivers. It is hand-painted with acrylic paint on a cotton stretched canvas measuring 11 inches by 14 inches by .5 inches.
